Aegina, Poros and Hydra- Saronic Islands

Interesting Facts:
Aegina ( Αίγινα ):
- The island is the most known for its pistachios. Vines, almonds, olives and figs are also cultivated on Aegina's fertile plains.
- The southern part of the island is rugged and mountainous.
Poros( Πόρος )
- Poros consists of two islands Sphairia and Kalaureia.
- The landscape is hilly, mountainous with rich vegetation.
- The island was often raided by pirates during the Middle Ages.
Hydra ( Υδρα ):
- The automobiles are not permitted on the island. Donkeys and water taxis are used for public transportation.
- Hydra takes its name from ancient springs. However the springs are dry now and island's water is imported by boat from the mainland.
