An extinct volcano near Puebla, Mexico

This fifth highest peak in Mexico is believed to have the highest tree in North America. It is also known for its observatory on top with the Large Millimeter Telescope ( Gran Telescopio Milimétrico). The construction of this telescope took 10 years, and cost over 100 million dollars. It is a joint Mexican-American project to help improve our knowledge about the formation of stars and to discover new planets.
