Snowdon is the highest peak in Wales and the highest British mountain south of Scottish Highlands.
The mountain is located near the Atlantic Ocean in Snowdonia National Park (Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri). It has six ridges and many cwms, some of which are filled with lakes. Since the peak is difficult to navigate in low cloud and mist conditions, vertical stone fingers have been placed to mark some of the routes.
